Wool Leads the Flock at Decorex
The Campaign for Wool will be at Decorex from Sunday 17th to 20th September with a flock of sheep and a fantastic Wool Trail which includes twenty interiors wool brands.
Decorex is the leading high-end interior design show in Europe and will present over 400 top British and European design brands at its annual venue within the historical grounds of Syon Park, London. Every imaginable interior product is available at this event from from furniture, lighting and decorative accessories to fabrics, wallpapers, tiles and architectural elements and this year wool is playing a major part too.
Country Life Promote the New Flock and Roll…
A stunning installation developed around the theme of Touch as part of the event’s special sensory feature areas has been created in collaboration with Country Life. The stunning photography which will be displayed was taken on location in Cumbria to reflect the entire sheep to product story. This will feature in the Country Life Decorex issue too (17th September). British Wool were thrilled to work with Brintons, Roger Oates and Zoffany to achieve this – all of which lead with wool as their fibre of choice.
Wool on the Loom…
Anybody interested in the craft of wool weaving will be able to see our skilled weaver Rebecca Connolly (rebeccaconnollydesign.com) working on her full size loom at the event. Rebecca is an award winning weaver with a passion for British Wool – she even dyes the fibres herself using natural dyes. Rebecca will be working with Herdwick yarn provided by Gardiner Yarns of Yorkshire, a spinning company established in 1886. (gardiner-yarns.co.uk)

Following the Wool Trail with Homes & Gardens…
From the front entrance visitors can see the wool story as our flock of Shetland and Ryeland sheep from Pembrokeshire in Wales and kindly provided by shepherdess Clare Johns, will lead people to over twenty different wool brands displaying beautiful wool interior products. This promotion is run in partnership with the home interiors bible Homes & Gardens and is supported by an 8-page A to Z of wool within its October issue.
Decorex is an event that is very much for design professionals but consumers can also attend and if interiors are your passion, it is a real treat to see such a dynamic display in one space. (decorex.com)
If you do visit Decorex – remember to follow the Wool Trail and support these great textile brands by choosing the most natural and sustainable fibre available.
