World Wide Knit in Public Day 2012

It will soon be World Wide Knit in Public Day. Each year hundreds of community knitting events take place during the second week of June, all organised by volunteers around the world. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and to basically just show off your knitting skills. A good number of these events will be taking place in the UK, with recently added locations including London, Bristol, Norwich, Southampton, Melton Mowbray, Luton and Worcester.

To find a WWKIP near you visit http://www.wwkipday.com/find_kip.htm. Recently added WWKIPs can be found here.

PS WWKIP Day coincides with the awesome International Yarn Bombing Day. The people at Knit Corsham have got the right idea, with plans to cover the whole village in wool.

Are you taking part in World Wide Knit in Public Day? Or are you going for the full yarn bombing experience? Get in touch with us here or over on Facebook and share what you’re doing.
