The theme this year is the history of wool in general and in the Netherlands specific. The exhibition gives an over view of iconic, sometimes typical Dutch wool items from the past linked to innovative ideas of contemporary Dutch designers.

Merino wool, renowned for its fine, pure, heat regulating and soft character, is the main material Nanna van Blaaderen uses in her work. All designs are developed and produced in collaboration with the Dutch Textile Industry, characterized by its rich heritage in craftsmanship, innovation and quality.
Dutch Fishermen Ganseys – Lecture Stella Ruhe

Location: Pistache, Frederiksplein 6, Amsterdam.
Wool hand knitted fishermen ganseys were for many years a forgotten part of the national Dutch heritage, but thanks to the book published last year by Stella Ruhe – Dutch Traditional Ganseys, the authentic workman’s gear has been rediscovered.
Wool Pop-up shop with Anne-Claire Petit & others

The Wool Week ‘pop-up’ shop will include ‘Oliver the Ram’, Anne-Claire Petit’s new 100% Merino wool toy sheep; Bugaboo and their Merino wool baby blanket which can be customized; quirky Bow Ties made for you, your Cat or your Dog from Wool & Water; and Eugenie Ligthart has created beautiful felted pellerines exclusively for ladies.
