British Wool in all its glory will be on display at the Meet the Manufacturer event – Make it British next week in Truman Brewery, London. (24th and 25th May)
The event will host a Wool Room and British Wool will create a fabulous pop-art Sheepish Studio for those wanting to feel the ‘wool love’ first hand!
Featuring product from Alternative Flooring, Ian Mankin, Jessica Dance, Marie Wallin, Maud Designs, Melanie Porter, Melin Tregwynt, Cherchbi and Tetrad – the Sheepish Studio will provide knowledge about British Wool which is grown on over 60 different pure breeds of sheep and many more half, rare and cross-bred sheep in the UK.
Additionally, a Make it British Talk hosted by Bridgette Kelly, Interior Textiles Director of The Campaign for Wool will discuss the reasons for and benefits of choosing Britain and British for wool textile manufacturing. The panel will include Alan Thornber of Laxtons Yarns in Yorkshire, Eifion and Amanda Griffiths of Melin Tregwynt in Wales and Lorna Haigh of Alternative Flooring in Hampshire.
“This is such a great opportunity to promote wool manufacturing in the UK and all things wool and British. Britain is known to be a centre of excellence for wool textiles and there is nowhere that understands the skilled chain of production of natural wool better. The surge in interest in the story of our wonderful British sheep and their natural assets continues to grow, so it’s brilliant to be at this event which showcases British manufacturing in force.” Bridgette Kelly said.
