Brora celebrates wool week by bringing a student’s jumper design to life for a limited-edition run. To mark the Campaign for Wool’s annual Wool Week, luxury Scottish cashmere and fashion brand Brora, have worked with Sandra Junele from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & design to create a limited-edition wool jumper. Brora have been always keen supporters of The Campaign for Wool and their mission to raise awareness about the unique, natural, and biodegradable benefits offered by the fibre. They are delighted to participate, as well as, bring the winning student’s designs to life in a limited-edition to purchase, or a chance to win the #WoolWeek jumper!

“Ever since we launched Brora in 1993, we’ve been a huge supporter of wool and as ever we are really pleased to support the Campaign for Wool, even more so during their 10th anniversary year. This year, students were tasked with designing a jumper using the essence of the Outer Hebrides as their inspiration, and of course this is just one of many areas in Scotland that is close to Brora’s heart. Sandra Junele, a final year Textiles student at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design was the outright winner for her use of colour and graphic design which translated into this unique woollen design so beautifully. Despite the incredibly detailed and interesting designs put forward by the students of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, we were extremely impressed by Sandra’s use of colour and combinations, the abstract and graphic design of the piece and her link to the Outer Hebrides through the mood board to finished garment. This is a statement jumper.” Victoria Stapleton, Founder & Creative Director of Brora

“I am thrilled that Brora selected Sandra’s design and that it is being launched for Campaign for Wool. We have built a great relationship working with Brora over the years and the students always really enjoy working on the live briefs. Sandra’s collection captured the rich colours and textures of her source beautifully and she successfully evoked a strong Hebridean mood that that is both fresh and dramatic, like the Hebrides themselves.”

Claire Adholla Co Programme Director for Textile Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design

I really couldn’t be happier. Thank you very much for the opportunity, it was a very exciting brief and I enjoyed working on it. I can’t believe that my design has been selected to produce limited edition jumpers.” Sandra Junele, Winning Student

A limited run of 120 Campaign for Wool jumpers featuring Sandra’s winning design will be available in Brora stores and at brora.co.uk
