The moment we’ve all been waiting for is here; today marks the official start of Wool Week 2013, and to celebrate, the Campaign for Wool have adopted the mantra “bigger is better”.
The Campaign for Wool has teamed up with John Lewis Oxford Street and Edinburgh to give you “Knit Nation”, providing free fashion focused knitting classes with some of the most highly regarded knitters in the industry, whilst promoting wool with an incredible woolly window display in the Oxford Street store.
As if that wasn’t enough, all throughout Wool Week there will be live knitting in the Oxford Street Window, transforming a seemingly plain white room into a knitted woolly paradise. See the room develop over the week as we document its progress live on Facebook and Twitter.
The morning of Monday 14th, saw keen knitter Daisy Lowe unveil the woolly heaven that our talented knitters will be transforming with yarn bombing during their live knitting sessions over the next week.
Meanwhile, away from the crowds in the women’s wear department, Wool and the Gang ticked off their attendees and settled down for the first free knitting class of the week, knitting this years must have accessory, a snood.
