One Wool Part 9

In part 9 of our One Wool initiative we’d like to introduce nominations from Lizzo, Macojay, Marvic Textiles, Ovis Design and Romney Marsh Wools

LIZZO

Lizzo’s bestselling collection of felted wools, Scotland, features a non-woven fabric that is timeless yet modern and showcases the natural beauty of wool. This fabric has a soft feel and the colours have an incredible depth due to the subtle combination of different colour fibres. The colours range from cosy chocolates to rusty reds to rich purples. MacOjay Blanket Throws The reason for choosing our range of lambswool blanket throws is – When we were designing our lambswool throws for interiors we always wanted to achieve throws that not only looked and felt gorgeous, (that you just want to wrap yourself up in!) but also had ethical properties that we believe in. Sustainable and natural. Our lambswool is from a UK spinning mill and we design and make our throws from our studio in Cheshire. We really ♥ wool and our woolly knits for the home.

MARVIC TEXTILES

OVIS DESIGN

Ovis (meaning “of sheep”) is a new creation that has come from a collaboration between two designers of very differing backgrounds. Jamie Lewis, of Jamie Lewis Crafts, lovingly designs and hand makes beautiful felted objects, each one unique from the next. Whereas Ben Harris, (recent winner of two IDI design awards) is an industrial designer with years experience bringing functional products to mass production. They are the quintessential odd couple. But what they both share an appreciation for is sustainable materials, none more so than felt. Combining their skills, they have made a hand crafted, production repeatable felt table that turns the common perception of wool and felt on its head. The removable wooden table top is only supported by 100% natural wool felt which is rolled into a cylinder and “stitched” together with rope. It is a simple, contemporary side table which even has storage space inside.
