Wool takes over Jac+ Jack’s Paddington store in Sydney, as its window proudly champions ‘the most beautiful wool in the world’.

For over 10 years Jac+ Jack has worked with Merino wool in every collection. Forming a signature of impeccable quality knitwear with the superfine grades of this premium, natural fibre, the Sydney-based label creates garments which pair back effortlessly within a customer’s existing wardrobe. For Wool Week 2015, Jac+ Jack proudly supports the global Campaign for Wool, declaring their love for ‘the most beautiful wool in the world’.

Please tell us a little about yourselves and how your day to day life involves wool.

Lisa ‘Jack’ Dempsey: In essence, Jac+ Jack is about feel. Its designers and founders, Jacqueline ‘Jac’ Hunt and Lisa ‘Jack’ Dempsey, focus on creating effortless, modern knitwear in premium, natural fibres including Australian Superfine Merino. Merino wool features in every collection since launching the brand in 2004.

What lies at the heart of your brand?

LD: Modern knitwear produced with premium natural yarns of impeccable quality.

How would you describe your brand in 3 words?

Jacqueline ‘Jac’ Hunt: Modern, considered, simplicity.

What is your favourite woollen item from your latest collection and why?

JH: APOLLO + PERSEUS CARDIGANS – the same long-line cardigan in a mens and womens version produced with Australian grown, Italian spun superfine Merino wool – the Italian mill we work with describes the wool as ‘the most beautiful in the world.’

What’s your ideal winter outfit from your current collection?

LD: NEMESIS SWEATER, in the same Australian grown, Italian spun superfine merino as our PERSEUS + APOLLO CARDIGANS, paired with a modern Merino suit pant – the BOMBER PANT.

Why do you love working with wool?
