To coincide with the launch of Wool Week last Sunday (October 5th 2014) and the inaugural Wool Ride, Edinburgh’s Harris Tweed hosted their own version of the Tweed Ride.

Guests set off from Harvey Nichols in St Andrew’s Square at noon and attracted a variety of chic ladies and gents in the finest Harris Tweed. Gordon Miller, creator of leading blog @scotstreetstyle was the official Ambassador for the event and Stewart Bryden (@stewbryden) took the role of official photographer and they both looked the part.
The cycle ride partnered with Harvey Nichols and Hendrick’s gin and passed some of the city’s most renowned sites including a refreshment stop at tweed specialists Walker Slater, award-winning gastro-pub The Blackbird and a tea party at The Bonham Hotel. Riders were also able to compete for a chance to win an outfit at design house Common People.

Hendricks played a vital role in the event as they provided a little Victorian panache to proceedings with their gin-infused cucumber sandwiches and refreshing Cucozade (cucumber lucozade). Both went down an absolute treat! We would like to thank everyone who came down and got involved in the ride and particularly our partners at Harris Tweed, Harvey Nichols and of course Hendricks!
Happy Wool Week Everyone!
