WOOL WEEK – Make A Difference Choose Wool

Wool Week – 7 to 20 October

Plans are now taking shape for the annual Wool Week experiences, and as always, we are looking to involve the whole wool industry in events and activities, these include; key industry experts, retailers, brands, tailors, designers, craft individuals and groups involved in workshops. If you would like to join us in spreading the message of the natural benefits of wool and participate in Wool Week 2019 please contact us via social media @campaignforwool or email info@campaignforwool.org.

Wool Week Information:

Following the request and success of Wool Week taking place over 2 weeks, we will retain this timing and duration to allow for wider wool promotions and events for retailers, designers, tailors and craft workshops.

The campaign will continue its consumer education program to highlight wool as a planet friendly fibre, and to ensure consumers are aware of its natural fibre attributes, benefits and biodegradable properties in the ocean and the land. The focus, through the POS messaging, will be to invite consumers to ‘Make A Difference – Choose Wool’ or to ‘Check it’s Wool’ by the choices they make. We can all make a small difference and accumulatively this can only help the plastic issue we are facing globally:

Make A Difference – Choose Wool. Every year sheep produce a new fleece; making wool a natural, renewable fibre source. Wool has inherent natural biodegradable properties in the land and ocean to benefit the planet which is choking from waste plastic, man-made and micro-fibres. We can all make a difference by choosing wool to help safeguard the planet for future generations.

During Wool Week we hope to increase consumer retail visits through in-store events and activities, that can be added to the Wool Week schedule, we will support these activities by capturing content of the events and promoting them via Eventbrite to maximise exposure and attendance, and add them to the overall schedule and promote via social media.

As previous we will be running a series of Wool Craft and Creative workshops around the UK, and we invite those wanting to participate to contact us. These will include knitting, crochet, table top weaving, demonstrations, in-discussion talks etc which may take place in retailers, designers studios, tailors or separate locations.
