The Campaign for Wool are thrilled to introduce and invite you to join The Wool Ride. This year, Wool Week will launch in a frenzy of fibre as over 300 wool loving cyclists from across the country gather in London for a one of a kind experience.
Starting and finishing at Potters Fields on Sunday 5th October, the bicycle ride will journey through some of the streets made famous by London’s most prominent wool supporters, including the archetypal Jermyn Street. Participants will also be able to take in some of London’s key sights and hotspots, passing through iconic scenery such as; London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Westminster, Knightsbridge, Park Lane and Regent Street.
Commencing at 9am and running through till 2pm, this 13.4 mile ride, estimated to take around 1 hour 38 minutes, takes riders along a meandering route with time to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the sights of the capital at a leisurely pace.
On arrival at Potters Fields, guests have the option to give their bikes a temporary makeover with the ‘Woolen Cycle Workshop.’ Here, teams of cycle creatives will be on hand to give bikes the ultimate makeover for a chance to win the award for best bicycle. Attendees will also be encouraged to wear their best woolen knits with an award for best dressed up for grabs.
If life in the saddle isn’t for you, come down and support the riders at Potters Fields where there will be a host of activities and entertainment for all ages. A marquee will be erected offering food and beverages in addition to live music, a bicycle duo, speeches and prize giving, not to mention a lot of wool!
A true celebration of Wool Week, The Campaign for Wool’s Wool Ride will be a truly immersive experience offering a valuable insight into the importance of the wool industry as well as a bike ride you won’t forget in a hurry.

Participation All participants under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. The organisers cannot take responsibility for under 16s on the day. “The Wool Ride” is a non-competitive event. Racing is not allowed. Event officials will not allow people racing to continue to take part. The event will take place on roads with rolling closures as well as marshalls, please consider this before entering the event. No pets are allowed on the cycle ride. All participants must abide by any instructions or regulations displayed or given on the day of the event by police and event officials. Event officials will determine whether those arriving late at the start of the event will be permitted to take part. The Campaign for Wool LTD is organising this event following best practice guidelines and health and safety standards as outlined in the Health and Safety Executive’s Event Safety Guide. Participants enter the “The Campaign for Wool Ride” at their own risk. The -Campaign for Wool and associated companies shall not be liable for any injury or loss to participants or their property that may occur as a result of their participation in the “The Campaign for Wool Ride” event other than where such injury or loss is a result of the organisers negligence. The Event Organiser will take all reasonable steps to minimise the risk of injury to participants taking part in the “Campaign for Wool Ride” There is a stringent risk assessment process in place for this event which aims to minimise or eliminate the risk to everyone taking part. By taking part in this event, all participants acknowledge that there may be conditions or circumstances beyond the organisers control that can lead to unforeseen risks. If there are any concerns or queries please contact us before agreeing to take part in this event. By entering Wool Ride, you acknowledge, understand and agree that; a) I agree to acquaint myself with and abide by those rules and any organisers’ instructions. The event organisers’ decisions are final in all circumstances. The Event Organiser is also entitled to impose Event rules upon the Participant from time to time which will form part of these Conditions. b) By completing the registration process you are confirming that all of the information provided is correct. Entries to this event is non-transferable without the specific written consent of the organisers – you must not allow another person to participate in your name. c) By entering, you accept that your email address can be used for occasional newsletter and similar mailings from Campaign For Wool (CFW will not pass any of your details on to 3rd parties without your express permission). You can opt out of the mailing list at any time by emailing details to woolteam@thisismission.com d) I am aware that my cycle and other equipment must be in a roadworthy/legal/safe condition. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they have the correct equipment required for the event and also to ensure that it is in suitable working order. The organisers will not take responsibility for injury caused by faulty personal equipment or safety wear. e) It is the participants responsibility to safeguard such protective clothing and equipment they may use. f) The risks of participation include, but are not restricted to: weather conditions, road traffic, behaviour of other participants, volunteer helpers, officials and spectators in and out of the event, dehydration, hypothermia and behaviour of animals. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they are medically fit to participate in the Wool Ride. If you have any medical conditions which may affect participation you should first consult your GP and then inform the organisers of the situation. g) It is the competitor’s responsibility to read all of the event information in full detail– including course maps. The organisers will not take responsibility for error as a consequence of competitors not reading pre-event information. h) The Event Organiser may introduce cut off times as they see fit as part of the Event rules, being limits on the time taken to complete sections of the Event to ensure the safe and proper running of the Event. Subsequently, participants may be instructed to withdraw from the event in accordance with imposed cut off times. i) The Event Organiser reserves the right to change the course or format of the event at any time for safety or other logistical reasons – as examples, in the case of poor weather conditions or security threat. j) The Event Organiser reserves the right at any time to remove Participants from the Event or prevent Participants participating in the Event if it considers such action necessary. k) The Participant acknowledges and accepts that circumstances concerning an Event may change from time to time for reasons out of the Event Organiser’s reasonable control or otherwise, without the Event Organiser incurring any liability and without any rights to withdrawal being accrued by the Participant. l) By entering the event the participant consents to: a. his/her appearance in the Event being filmed, recorded, incorporated and exploited in whole or in part in any television programme, film, video or broadcast of whatever nature by all mean. b. the use and reproduction of the participant’s name, likeness, appearance and photographs, films and recordings by all means and in all media for the purpose of advertising, publicity and otherwise in relation to the exploitation of the Event (and future events) and/or the promotion of the Event (and future events) and the commercial rights relating to the Event (and future events) provided that such use does not imply direct endorsement by the participant of any official sponsor or supplier of the Event. c) The Event Organiser will not be liable for any actions of any spectators or other third parties. d) I hereby, aware of these, assume the risks of participating in these events and on my own behalf and on the behalf of my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin and whomever: – agree to waive any claim and to release and discharge from any claim which I or they may have in respect of death, disability, injury, property loss or damage as a result of or while I am participating in this event, the event organisers, directors, sponsors, officials administrators or volunteer helpers – agree to indemnify the persons mentioned immediately above for any or all liabilities or claims made against them as a result of my behaviour in this event. Said waiver, release, discharge and indemnify to extend to liability for negligence under common or statute law. e) In the case of an emergency the organiser may pass personal details provided by each participant to the emergency services and health care professionals and also use such details for the purposes of contacting individuals’ emergency contacts.
